By accessing or using the website at liveaudio.opencohost.com ("Website"), or by downloading, installing, or using the LiveAudio desktop application ("Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to all terms and conditions stated herein, please do not access the Website or use the Software.

Permission is hereby granted, free of charge, to any person obtaining a copy of this software and associated documentation files (the "Software"), to deal in the Software without restriction, including without limitation the rights to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell copies of the Software, and to permit persons to whom the Software is furnished to do so, subject to the following conditions:
The above copyright notice and this permission notice shall be included in all copies or substantial portions of the Software.
3. Desktop Application Usage & Requirements
LiveAudio executes speech recognition models locally on user-provided computing hardware (Windows and Linux). You acknowledge and agree that:
- Hardware Capacity: You are solely responsible for ensuring your system meets the hardware requirements (CPU instruction support, RAM, and GPU VRAM) needed to execute your chosen Whisper model size without thermal or stability issues.
- Third-Party Model Weights: While LiveAudio provides tools to fetch compatible Whisper GGML model binaries, the original Whisper neural network architecture is developed by OpenAI. Model weights are subject to their respective open weights licenses.
- Local WebSocket Endpoint: LiveAudio exposes an unencrypted local WebSocket stream (default:
ws://127.0.0.1:8765) for local OBS browser docks or overlay integration. You are responsible for ensuring that this port is not inadvertently forwarded or exposed to untrusted networks.
4. Streaming, Broadcasting & Audio Recording Compliance
When using LiveAudio to generate captions during live broadcasts, podcast recordings, or public streams (via OBS Studio or any other mixer):
- Consent and Wiretapping Laws: You are solely responsible for obtaining any necessary consent from speakers, co-hosts, and guests in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local audio recording and privacy laws (including one-party or all-party consent requirements).
- Platform Compliance: You are responsible for ensuring that your broadcast captions comply with the community guidelines, terms of service, and accessibility rules of your chosen streaming platforms (e.g., Twitch, YouTube, Kick).
